In April of 2009, I did the one-day whitewater raft trip in the Western Grand Canyon. It was an outstanding trip and everyone had a wonderful time. We were soaked through and through in the seven rapids we went through.
Our guide gave us interesting information about the area. One of our stops was to Travertine Canyon, where we did a short hike/climb up to a beautiful grotto-like side canyon with waterfalls. Lunch was provided.
We were back at the lodge in Peach Springs, AZ, where we met to start the trip, before 6:00pm. At the end of the rafting trip, we took a breathtaking 6-minute helicopter ride to the rim! |

Traveling through the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River is truly a life changing experience. I've been on both a motorized rig and on a human powered raft. The human powered trip was absolutely spectacular since we were able to spend 2 weeks in the canyon. This trip should be on your list of life experiences. |
