The Cal-Salmon - Definitely the Slamin' Salmon, Mar 01, 2006

The Salmon River of California, better known as the Cal-Salmon is considered by many whitewater entusiasts as the premier class IV-V river to run in California. Big holes, strong hydraulics, and technical moves are the norm for this classic pool and drop river. Once on the river you are guaranteed to keep your heart pounding and your adrenaline pumping as you paddle through class V rapids like Cascade, Last Chance, and Freight Train. Scenery through the Salmon River canyon is second to none with lush green forested hill sides, and crystal clear water, contrasted by a azure blue sky somethimes spotted with large white cumulous clouds. You'll be asking yourself, can it get any better than this?

Rafting on the Cal Salmon was a very memorable experience. The canyon is secluded and the whitewater was awesome. The water was a gorgeous blue-green. If you get the chance, do it! |
