The Upper Klamath is by far the best Spring,Summer, and Fall class IV+ whitewater on the west coast. This wild and scenic section of the Klamath boasts exciting rapids with roller coaster waves and a non-adrenaline rush. You'll want to do this stretch of the Klamath over and over again. Along with world class rapids this river adventure offer beautiful river canyon panoramas, wildlife sightings, and loads of history from a bygone era. Side trips include a visit to the 1860's homestead of pioneer Martin Frain. You'll see his cabins, root cellar, and apple orchard. You'll also see several old Klamath Indian villages where native Klamath Indians camped, hunted, and fished along the banks of the Klamath. One village site includes the rain rock where native Indians presented offerings and prayed for rain. Surrounding the rock is several sweat lodge sites that were used in ceremonies and rituals. This is a must do wilderness rafting adventure for both beginner and experienced rafters alike.
