Beautiful day in August, 2006 on the American River, Middle Fork.
However, our guide with W. E. T. River Trips did not navigate correctly at Kanaka Falls (AKA Cartwheel) in that he scouted to the right instead of the left, causing four to fall out including guide. One was injured. Guide Jeff also fell out the week before on Tunnel Chute, and the following day on Kanaka Falls. An Experienced Guide is essential. Our guide had minimal experience. Cannnot understand why
W.E.T. did not provide a guide who had the ability to navigate this river. Beware of WET. |
