Dillon Colorado was incorporated January 26, 1883 at the site of a trading post and a stage stop. The town of Dillon has changed locations three times; first to be closer to the railroad, a second time to be located between three rivers - the Blue, the Ten Mile, and the Snake. Then again because in 1956 the Denver Water Board was to create the reservoir, known today as Lake Dillon.
Today Dillon Colorado still thrives on the shore of Lake Dillon. Dillon Colorado has been referred to as the gem of Summit County and is known as the Family Fun Capital of Summit County Colorado.
