This is a very beautiful run mostly class III pool drop style rapids. Really fun at higher water, and becomes bony at 500cfs. I have rafted it down to 350cfs. There is a 200 yard shoot along a cliff wall with some nice haystacking waves at higher water, a hole next to the wall river left and a hole at the end of the shoot. Right after the shoot there is a couple of diversion dams, they should not cause any problems. Take out at spring creek bridge or continue to kremmling. After spring creek bridge the river mellows and you float through private land. There are many diversion dams use caution and watch for possible strainers/sweepers. There are some really nice play spots at higher water. |
