A good float, and watch out for Whitewater Rafting LLC, Sep 26, 2006

We did this trip in mid-August with our kids. A nice float, nothing too challenging. There is one tricky rapid a few miles past Glenwood Springs, where you have to avoid hitting a pylon from a bridge. There's hot springs along the way where you can stop and soak. That was big fun.
On the negative side, we were assaulted by an employee of Whitewater Rafting LLC at the Grizzly Creek put-in. We're a private boater, and we had some used equipment that we had bought at a swap meet. As we were unloading, this guy from Whitewater Rafting LLC jumped over our raft and stole one of our paddles. He claimed it was "his paddle." Not sure if it was or not, but it's been a long time since I was physically assaulted like that, and I certainly wouldn't expect it on a river from a river guide. Very unprofessional. |
