The Selway River canyon is considered one of the best whitewater tours in the U.S. and one of the last pieces of unspoiled wilds in America. The Selway has the unique distinction of being one of the first two rivers protected by the National Wild & Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. It originates in the Bitterroot Mountains and flows west, cutting through the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area in central Idaho.
