McCall, population 2,400, is a small resort town in west central Idaho located on the Southern shore of Payette Lake. McCall is two hours North of Boise and primarily accessible via the Payette River Scenic Byway also kown as Highway 55. With the country's largest wilderness areas to the east and the breathtaking Hells Canyon to the west, McCall's location is highly desirable for lovers of the outdoors.
Traditionally a logging community, McCall is now a four-season tourist destination for outdoor recreation. The resort town is known for its Winter Carnival, long winters and highest mean snowfall in the state. Nicknamed "Ski Town U.S.A.", McCall is the home to many past winter Olympic athletes.Although this old mill town is extremely laid back, you'll find plenty of adventures to fill the long summer days, like world class whitewater rafting, waterskiing, sailing, golfing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and soaking in area hot springs.
