Snohomish County's largest city and seat of county government, Everett sits on the shores of Port Gardner Bay, gazing at the majestic Olympic Mountain range. Everett was established in 1891 when John D. Rockefeller and other Eastern developers met to plan their "New York City" of the West. Today, many historic buildings line streets which are named for its early developers, Rockefeller, Wetmore, Colby, and Hewitt.
The Everett waterfront is home to the second largest marina on the West Coast. You'll also find an authentic 1890s marina marketplace which includes a 4-star waterfront hotel, fine restaurants, and a variety of enticing shops and galleries. Nearby, you'll discover a new micro-brewery and pub as well as a seasonal Farmers Market. The Everett Naval Station, also located near the marina, has become home port for thousands of U.S. Navy personnel and their families who have also been relocated to the area. |
