Naturally, coal mining is the major industry in Colstrip, which is also home to the Colstrip power plant. The power plant employs over 300 people and can produce up to 2094 megawatts of electricity. Sightseers can visit Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument which is located 64 miles west of Colstrip, or Yellowstone National Park, about 6 hours away.
