Warrensburg New York Rafting

Warrensburg, population 4,300, is a quiet town that has preserved much of its past while looking forward to the future. Historic post-Colonial and Victorian era homes remain on tree-lined streets, continuing to serve their occupants well as they enter the 21st century. Vestiges of the water-powered mills along Schroon River remain, but find new uses as restaurants and antique shops. Waterside parks offer access for fishing, boating and picnicking.

Located in the southern Adirondacks, Warrensburg is surrounded by the foothills of one of the oldest mountain ranges in the country.  Much of this heavily forested terrain is state-owned, and available for hiking, backpacking, Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Marked trails enable people of all ages and experience to enjoy this national treasure. Lakes and rivers offer canoers, rafters and kayakers everything from placid waters to class V rapids.  Echo Lake on the edge of the hamlet offers a recently renovated public sand beach. Tennis courts and ball fields are open to the public. Numerous golf courses will satisfy the needs of any golfer, and offer unmatched scenery to make a memorable game, no matter where the ball lies.

Warrensburg is just five minutes from 32-mile-long Lake George, which offers everything from an undeveloped, peaceful and gracious shoreline surrounded by towering mountains in the north, to fun-filled lake and shoreline activity in the south. While visiting the Lake George region of Upstate New York be sure to take advantage of some of the recreational activities.  The water quality and clarity of Lake George is excellent. In fact the water is so clean, most of the summer and year round residents take their daily drinking water directly from the lake, without purification.
