Kernville is located in the South Sierras of California on the Kern River, 165 miles north of Los Angeles and 330 miles southeast of San Francisco.  Nearby the quaint, western village that is Kernville are spectacular natural attractions such as Lake Isabella and the Sequoia National Forest.  This small town, population of 1,500, is a paradise for outdoor enthusiast and has a large tourist industry centered on the white water rapids of the Kern River. While white water rafting is the main attraction, you can also do mountain biking, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities. Fly fishing is popular; in particular, the golden trout is highly sought after for catch and release fishing.
