Westwater Canyon Rafting After launching at the Westwater Ranger Station you'll enjoy 7 miles of beautiful desert scenery which includes big red walls, old prospectors cabins, and desert plant life. Near Little Dolores rapid you'll notice the canyon walls closing in and the whitewater begins. In the next 3 miles you'll encounter 8 class III and IV rapids including Funnel Falls, Skull Rapid, and Sock It To Me.
There are many great campsites if you choose to do an overnight trip. There are also several nice side hikes. Westwater Canyon is best enjoyed as a two day trip so you can experience the side canyons and campsites. Or combine it with Ruby/Horsethief Canyon just upstream for a three or four day rafting trip.
However you choose to experience it, a Westwater Canyon rafting trip is worth your time. The rafting outfitters below will be happy to take you down the river. |

Beautiful canyon and great whitewater. I had a great time and would definitely go back and raft Westwater Canyon again. Our guide was informative and entertaining. We went in July so the weather was hot and the cool water was refreshing. My kids had a ball too. |

I recently did Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River. The trip was awesome. It was beautiful and the campsites and side hikes were great. It's a great introduction to multi-day rafting trips since you can do 2 days or just one if you like. |
