Our whitewater rafting trips range from beginner trips suitable for families to wild and exciting class IV or V rapids. The Clear Creek and Upper Colorado Rivers are easy to access for day trips out of Boulder, Denver, and the surrounding areas. To give you an idea of the adventures we offer, I've included a brief description of our beginner and intermediate Clear Creek tours below. If you are an experienced whitewater rafter, I will be happy to discuss the more advanced trips.
Clear Creek Whitewater Rafting
Beginner Rafting Tour (Half Day): For younger and inexperienced paddlers, this section serves up eleven fun-filled rapids as the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting! Float past a historic waterwheel, drop over Castle Falls, paddle though Mountain Lion, and then hold on tight for Mr. Twister. The minimum age for participants is seven years old, and you can expect the tour to last approximately two and a half hours.
- Departure Times: 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
- Cost: $70 Per Person
Intermediate Rafting Tour (Half Day): This exciting stretch of the river is Clear Creek’s most popular trip! Continuous class III and IV rapids will thrill guests throughout the run. Surge over Nomad, power through the Phoenix Holes, and then take on the class IV climax: the Outer Limits. The minimum age for rafters is fifteen years old, and you can expect to spend three to three and a half hours on this intermediate white water rafting tour.
- Departure Times: 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.
- Cost: $80 Per Person
Included in our rates: The services of a professional rafting guide; rafting trip; wetsuit, booties, and personal flotation device; and gratuities for your guide(s). On Clear Creek trips, a photo CD is also included.
Not included in our rates: Snacks or water, which you will need to bring along with you.
Upper Colorado River:
New 2015: We were one of the new outfitters selected by the BLM (after a 7 years of no new outfitters - country wide prospectus) for the Upper Colorado River.
Beginner - Intermediate Rafting Tour (Full Day):
The tour is a highlight for many and one of the most amazing trips in the Western US. Pumphouse to Rancho Del Rio is 11.7 miles and serves up two great canyon sections, the famous rapids of Eye of the Needle and Yarmony Rapids, and is the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting! The minimum age for participants is seven years old, and you can expect the tour to last approximately six to 8 hours on the water with a possible stop at a hot springs as well. Price based on 4 person Minimum.
- Departure Times: 6:30 a.m (Boulder, Golden, Denver Area). Plan on a very long day with 3:15 of transportation / sightseeing each way from our put-in/take-out on Upper Colorado (Pumphouse) - 20 minutes west of Kremmling Colorado. Our take out will be Radium or Rancho Del Rio depending on flow rate, conditions, and group ability. On high water, we may increase minimum age from 7 to 9 years old. Return time will be around 8:30 pm.
- Cost: $250 Per Person (based on 4 person minimum)
Included in our rates: The services of a round-trip transportation from Boulder or Golden; River Shuttle; Professional rafting guide(s); rafting trip; Splash jacket; and personal flotation device; Breakfast/Lunch; Snacks/water, and sightseeing tour of Colorado’s History.
Not included in our rates: Gratuity for your guide; Dinner.
Upper Colorado River Two Day: Pumphouse to State Bridge - 14 miles.
