Family owned and operated since 1983, Crab Apple Whitewater, Inc. is New England's largest whitewater rafting outfitter and offers a wide variety of whitewater trips in Maine and Massachusetts. Full and half-day rafting and Funyak (inflatable kayak) trips on easy, intermediate and advanced whitewater can be found on any day during our season.

Members of our family participate in each trip in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont ensuring that we are creating a comfortable environment for an outstanding adventure experience. Our whitewater rafting trips range from MILD to WILD. In Massachusetts, our base camp sits along the Deerfield River and offers six different river trip options. Each of our rivers is controlled by dams for consistent whitewater action April-October. On the Deerfield we offer two full day raft trips on intermediate or advanced whitewater and three half-day trips on mild whitewater in rafts or inflatable kayaks, called "funyaks".
Our base in Maine is on the Kennebec River banks. We offer three full day raft trips on high volume, exciting Class III-IV rapids of the Kennebec and Dead Rivers. Our base lodge is beautiful and includes a pub, restaurant, pool and hot tub. Lodging ranges from suites with jacuzzis to cabins sleeping 4-10, bunk style accommodations and camping.
Our base in Maine also is the home of Rapid Shot Paintball. Custom fields on a 400 acre lot just 2 miles from our rafting base include speed ball, woods field, a full Maine town with 20 buildings and scenario fields with downed aircraft. You can play Paintball with Rapid Shot all day, half-day or Nightfall - play after your raft trip until dusk - now that is cool!
We accommodate many youth group trips - boy and girl scouts, schools, colleges, rec departments, YMCA, etc. For these groups we have special all-inclusive rates for rafting, gear, lodging, meals.
Crab Apple also accommodates many adult groups - corporate, friends and family, bachelor parties and reunions. Each of our base lodges has ideal space for pre-trip meetings and post-trip social gatherings after a thrilling run down the river.
